The PDI Journey

  1. 01

    Check Eligibility & Register

A Potential Driving Instructor (PDI) is anyone training towards the DVSA qualification. To start you must be at least 21, have held a full UK driving licence for three of the last four years, and pass an enhanced DBS background check. We confirm you meet every requirement, then guide you through registering with the DVSA.

  2. 02

    Train Towards Your Exams

Your training is structured around the three DVSA qualifying tests. We start with Part 1 theory and hazard perception, then develop your driving to the higher standard required for Part 2, before moving on to lesson planning and teaching technique for Part 3. One-to-one coaching keeps you progressing at every stage.

  3. 03

    Trainee Licence & Qualify

Once you pass Part 2 you can apply for a trainee licence, allowing you to teach real pupils and gain paid experience while you prepare for Part 3. This supervised practice builds the confidence and lesson-craft you need to pass your final test and qualify as a fully Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).
